New York State HERO Act

On May 5, 2021, the New York Health and Essential Rights Act (NY HERO Act) was signed into law. According to the New York State Department of Labor, ‘The law mandates extensive new workplace health and safety protections in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The purpose of the NY HERO Act is to protect employees against exposure and disease during a future airborne infectious disease outbreak.”

Under the HERO act, in September of that same year, Governor Kathy Hochul announced the designation of COVID-19 as an airborne infectious disease. This designation requires all employers to implement workplace safety plans.

Many employers found themselves panicking as to how to undertake these plans. COVID-19 has effectively changed the landscape of the modern workplace beyond anything that previous generations could have experienced. Rather than a hastily thrown together in-house safety plan to hinder the spread of the disease, doesn’t it make more sense to consult a professional that considers such a strategy to be the very foundation of its business model?

Since this is our area of expertise, we are uniquely equipped to strategize a blueprint towards ongoing disease prevention in your workplace. Employing experienced staff from NYC Best Commercial Cleaning is the most sensible decision your business can make to comply with this new designation and all it requires of employers. Since we already believe that an office that is clean is an office that runs smoothly, adapting to the new designation takes no effort at all on our part, whereas companies going it alone may be wasting time on a plan that just won’t be as good as ours.
